Building Our Support Team

Thursday and Friday of this week we will be joining others in Carmel, Indiana, in an intensive two-day Support Team Building “boot camp”.  The seminar is focused on helping Christian workers get to their ministry assignments quickly and fully funded.  Besides hours spent each week on our Perspectives homework, we have been diligently spending additional hours (lots of them) reading the support team building materials, doing their Bible studies, completing lots of homework and praying for God’s hand in our support team building efforts.  We have also begun sending out our initial letter, prayer card and commitment card to a number of friends and family.  We still have a lot more to send out.

It’s amazing how everything just takes a lot of time.  Everyone joked during our application/orientation week in Minnesota last month that this next phase, support team building, would be an additional full-time job on top of our already full-time jobs.  Inside we knew there would be lots of extra work to be done, but it was easy to think that “full-time” really didn’t mean “FULL-TIME”.  Now we know better.  It really does mean “FULL-TIME”!

We would truly appreciate your prayers on our behalf specifically for:
·         Thursday & Friday (3/17 & 3/18) – Support Team Building “Boot Camp” – that we would absorb all that we need to know to be most effective at raising up our support team.
·         Our time to be managed efficiently & effectively – balance between our jobs, time for our family & each other, and time to fit in all that’s necessary prior to heading to France.
·         Our support team building efforts – that we would be faithful in sharing our story, that God would work in hearts, and that our financial support team AND prayer support team would be built.
·         Our family as we visit Lyon, April 7-18 – meet the Lyon City Team, visit the ICCL (church), scout out potential schools for the kids, and experience French culture & life in Lyon – pray that God would confirm in our hearts, our kids’ hearts and the Lyon City Team’s hearts the call to serve in Lyon.
·         The sale of our house – it’s been on the market now for one year.  Pray that it will sell soon so this burden can be released and we can begin preparing for our move to France.

“That's why, when I heard of the solid trust you have in the Master Jesus and your outpouring of love to all the followers of Jesus, I couldn't stop thanking God for you—every time I prayed, I'd think of you and give thanks.”  Ephesians 1:15-16 (The Message)

Thank you for all the wonderful words of kindness and support that we’ve received already in this process!  We truly are blessed with wonderful friends and family, and thank God for you daily!
